In 2006 one of my teachers helped me to figure out a mysterious and painful imbalance in my body.  Many muscular/skeletal imbalances are due to compensatory patterns from favoring old injuries.  Mine was created by a 20 year old knee injury that led to sciatica in my hip. It almost stopped me in my tracks.

She recommended pilates to retrain my body’s muscle memory.  I tried it and was amazed.  The benefits and relief were so profound that I knew I had to help others with this gift.  The best part is that it totally complimented my yoga practice.

I began learning to teach pilates as I was integrating it into my body.  My training began with Pat Guyton in Boulder, Colorado and Studio 4 Pilates in Half Moon Bay.  My continuing education led me to the BASI (Body Arts and Sciences) certification developed by Rael Isacowitz.  I taught as an apprentice teacher at the Mill Valley Health Club for a year and teach a pilates mat and a small group pilates apparatus class there on mondays.
